Wendy’s Berry Burst Chicken Salad is Back

You may recognize the author behind today’s post, Jenica Parcell aka A Slice of Style, from her blog and Instagram. A busy mom of two (twins nonetheless!), we’re excited to have Jenica share her thoughts on why drive-thrus rock, and more importantly her experience trying Wendy’s® Berry Burst Chicken Salad. We won’t say too much, but in her words it’s so good she recommended the salad to multiple family members. Read on to see why!

My life has changed a lot since having kids and I appreciate certain things that I didn’t appreciate before...like the convenience of drive-thrus – HA! For the next two years (minimum), you’ll be hard pressed to find me and my kids at a restaurant that doesn’t have a drive-thru. I can handle a LOT, but going into restaurants with my kids is one of those things that is not a strong point for me because they run in two directions and want to get into the salt, and the napkins, and climb under the tables and I’m just a human. Just one tiny human trying my best. ;)

Anyway, now that we’ve established my deep love for the invention of the drive-thru, let’s move on to why I genuinely LOVE Wendy’s. THEIR SALADS! I hope you don’t feel like I’m yelling at you. I just feel like we all need to be on the same page about my excitement for Wendy’s salads.

One of my favorite things to do is go through the Wendy’s drive-thru, order a salad for me (while my kids are safely contained in their beloved car seats), then head to the park and let them have fun while I can watch them play and eat my salad! They love when I order some Wendy’s chicken for them, too. Swinging by Wendy’s is a win/win situation. Our house stays clean, there are no dishes to do and no food is thrown on the floor. I bet you can guess which two are the main culprits. Grabbing Wendy’s for lunch gives us the chance to enjoy the outdoors without the stress of packing a lunch – because ensuring we all make it out of the house can be stressful enough.

The Wendy’s Berry Burst Chicken Salad is DELICIOUS. Like, genuinely, truly, delicious. One of my highest values in life is honesty. If it wasn’t good, I wouldn’t tell you to run, not walk, to go get yourself one like I’m doing right now. I love that it’s a choice for busy people like me. I like to eat wholesome meals and not many restaurants have options that I can easily order in a drive-thru. At many other restaurants, I have to choose between a fresh-made option and convenience. I don’t have to choose between convenience and delicious, freshly made food at Wendy's because they give me both. Thank you for getting it, Wendy’s.

I’ve even talked my mom, sisters and friends into getting these salads. Trust me, it wasn’t hard. In fact, I called my mom the other day and she said, “Guess where I am?! The Wendy’s drive- thru about to get my salad.” I mean, it’s the least I can do for the people who love me the most. I’m a giver.

The Wendy’s Berry Burst Chicken Salad has delicious chicken, crunchy lettuce, berries, roasted almonds, and a raspberry vinaigrette dressing that actually fits within my daily calorie intake goals. For reference, a lot of other dressings that are the same serving size have at least three times the calories. THREE TIMES! I only need one dressing packet for my full-sized Berry Burst Chicken Salad, which means it’s only 50 calories. This is incredible.

To summarize my message to you today, my friend, I just want you to know that there IS a magical place where you can get everything you want and need. It’s a freshly made salad option, and you won’t have to witness any in-store restaurant meltdowns from your children - which is really a priceless gift. Just head to Wendy’s, AKA “the busy person’s solution to getting a freshly made salad while also maintaining the sanity of all involved.” You’re welcome.
