How do you get a Wendy’s Frosty Key Tag?
Both physical Key Tags that go on your keychain and digital Key Tags that live in your Wendy’s app are available for purchase every November-December.
Physical tags can be purchased in-restaurant, at the drive-thru, via a kiosk, or through our app or website.
A digital tag can be ordered through our app or website. Upon purchase, you should immediately receive your Key Tag as a mobile offer in your MyWendy’s account.
How long are Key Tags good for? Do they expire?
They’re good for a full year. Key Tags purchased November – December will expire on December 31st of the following year.
Are Key Tags available at all locations?
Most, but not all. Frosty Key Tags are available for sale at all participating Wendy’s locations in the U.S. from November – December of each year until supplies last. If a location has chosen to participate, you will see physical and digital Key Tags as an option under the “Give Something Back” menu category.
Are Key Tags available through delivery?
Yes, but only through delivery in the Wendy’s app from November-December. They are not available to purchase through third-party delivery providers.
Can I buy Key Tags in bulk?
Yes. November through December physical Key Tags can be purchased in bulk. We recommend visiting your local Wendy’s to buy as many as you’d like. But you can also purchase them directly from the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption.
How do I redeem my free Jr. Frosty with purchase?
Physical Tags: Place your order in restaurant or at the drive-thru, present your Key Tag to one of our crew members and receive your free Jr. Frosty along with the rest of your purchase.
Digital Tags: Place your order in-app or online and then apply your Key Tag as a mobile offer. Or, you can add it to your Wendy’s Rewards card for in-restaurant (or drive-thru) scanning.
Can I use my physical Key Tag in the Wendy’s app?
Nope. The physical and digital Key Tags are two separate items. Physical tags cannot be applied to orders placed through the app.
How do I use my digital, in-app Key Tag?
After purchasing your digital Key Tag, it will be accessible within the Offers section of the Wendy’s app. To use it, just place a mobile order and then apply the offer.
For in-restaurant or drive-thru orders, the Key Tag offer can be uploaded to your Wendy’s Rewards card. To do this:
- Open the app.
- Look for the navigation bar at the bottom of the screen and tap “Scan”.
- Tap “ADD OFFER TO MY CARD”.
- Find your Key Tag offer and tap on it.
- Tap on “LOAD TO CARD”.
- Make sure you include a Jr. Frosty as part of your in-restaurant or drive-thru order and have a crew member scan your Rewards card to apply the offer.
Can I use my Key Tag with other offers?
No, not with other offers. But, you can use it along with a Reward.
Can I use my Key Tag more than once per visit?
A Key Tag offer is good for one use per visit. After you use your digital Key Tag, it will be temporarily removed from your offers set. But don’t worry. It will return in about an hour or so.
If I purchase more than one Key Tag, can I get multiple Frosty treats per visit?
The way we see it, a Frosty Key Tag offer is good for one use per visit no matter how many tags you have.
That said, individual restaurants may choose to honor more than one Key Tag so we recommend asking a crew member at your local Wendy’s.
I lost my physical Key Tag. What can I do?

Are there other ways to score a free Frosty during the Key Tags off-season?
Sure are. We offer our $1 Frosty Boo! Books™ every year in September and October, which benefit the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption as well. Boo! Books coupons are redeemable for a free Jr. Frosty – no purchase necessary – through 12/31 of the year they were purchased.
