Gavin Waugh
Senior Vice President, Treasurer, Risk Management & Corporate Development
Gavin Waugh has served as Wendy’s Senior Vice President, Treasurer, Risk Management and Corporate Development since May 2022. He leads several finance functions for the company, including Corporate Development, Capital Markets, Treasury Operations, Consumer Payments, Risk Management and Enterprise Data Governance.
Gavin serves as Wendy’s primary point of contact with banks, rating agencies and debt holders, and regularly reviews business performance with a variety of stakeholders.
A passionate leader, he enjoys helping colleagues develop their careers and builds effective teams through a focus on relationships, continuous learning and helping people find what they love to do.
Gavin has worked in the quick service food (QSR) industry since 1998, when he was Senior Treasury Analyst for the largest Arby’s franchisee in the United States.
He later became Senior Director of Treasury for Arby’s Restaurant Group, then Vice President and Assistant Treasurer of Wendy’s/Arby’s Group when the companies merged in 2008. He has held a series of Treasury roles of increasing responsibility with Wendy’s since 2011 and has served as Treasurer since 2013.
Gavin’s favorite Wendy’s menu item is the Vanilla Frosty, which he’ll often order with a Grilled Chicken Sandwich. He’s still holding out hope that Wendy’s will bring back the Bacon Jalapeno Chicken Sandwich.
A native of South Africa, Gavin holds a Master of Business Administration from Kennesaw State University (Ga.) and a Bachelor of Commerce, Economics and Business Management degree from University of South Africa.
He serves on the Board and Audit and Finance Committee of the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption, the national nonprofit dedicated exclusively to finding permanent homes for the more than 150,000 children waiting in North America’s foster care systems.
