We think the Wendy’s culture is pretty special, and a big part of that is based on Dave’s values:
Do the Right Thing, Treat People with Respect and Give Something Back
What is it really like to work at Wendy’s? We’re a pretty tight bunch. And we have a lot of fun. Get a behind-the-scenes peek and see the possibilities that a job at Wendy’s can provide.
The Wendy’s System comprises approximately 7,000 restaurants across the globe. Ninety five percent of Wendy’s restaurants are owned by independent franchise operators who bring their own unique backgrounds and experiences to our Wendy’s family while sharing our commitment to the values established by our founder, Dave Thomas.
We solidified five Diversity, Equity and Inclusion areas in which we intend to focus in the coming years to increase the representation of underrepresented populations among our Company’s leadership and management, as well as the diversity of our franchisees.
"We rely on the diverse perspectives of our people at all levels, and particularly in leadership, to make us stronger as an organization. Wendy’s is committed to devoting the time and attention required to build our pipeline, train, recruit, advance and retain our people, and in doing so, implement the changes needed to turn our goals into reality."
- Dr. Beverly Stallings-Johnson
Chief Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Officer
Wendy’s Employee Resource Groups help create opportunities for learning, inclusion, career growth and leadership development for Company employees. With the guidance of a senior leadership team sponsor, Employee Resource Groups are dedicated to the development of their members and ensuring representation when it comes to key decisions, such as benefits enhancements, creating connections among our employees and engaging with the local community.
In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, Wendy’s restaurant operations changed significantly and quickly as we all worked together to support public health directives. Though the pandemic affected communities around the globe in different ways, our priorities remained clear: create a safe environment for our team members and customers, support our people, help our franchise community and give back to the communities where we operate restaurants.
Wendy’s is committed to setting our Company employees up for success. In addition to supporting their professional development goals through enhanced training and development opportunities, we work to create and maintain a supportive culture in the workplace and beyond. Our WeCare Fund is designed to provide short-term financial assistance to Company and franchise employees in need.
Wendy’s has built a strong culture of recognition at every level. Our restaurant teams remain dedicated to supporting one another and our customers, and our Wendy’s family has made it a priority to let these teams know how much we appreciate them through platforms like the Top General Manager and Make Your Mark awards. Wendy’s as a company is also the proud recipient of several industry awards.
